Charity contributions to the community have steadily increased since Outback Steakhouse became title sponsor five years ago .The Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am has been able to contribute over $3.4 million to area charities. The beneficiaries for 2010 are FARA (Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance) and Operation Homefront-Florida.

With the accessibility of our professionals and celebrities, we have shown the entire country how much fun this event can be. Celebrities who participated in the 2009 event included 2008 amateur champion Derrick Brooks with fellow Tampa Bay Buccaneer, Ronde’ Barber. The inspirational Michael J. Fox wowed fans with his golfing abilities. Fan favorites Bill Murray, Mark Wahlberg, George Lopez and Stone Phillips tried to capture this year’s title. Also competing were sports greats Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice, Joe Theismann, Vinny Testaverde, Nancy Lopez and Jim Courier.
